A Dog Is For Life….

A Dog Is For Life….

Not just for christmas..or erm.. New year…/early 2010.

Ok ok, we know it’s a little late but unfortunately, due to some unforseen circumstances, the release of Dogzilla’s album has been put on hold, but don’t you worry… we’ve have an exclusive free download and interview with Outakers leader Dogzy to tide you over.

Looking back over previous material to date, there’s a few story-tellers but there’s also some CRAZY tunes, what sort of vibes will we hear on this CD?

Different styles of music. For example; I got a guitarist in for a day and worked with that sort of sound. As for vibes; expect to laugh, cringe, lol, and maybe cry.

Production wise what can we expect, are you sticking with the producers around you (i.e. Rachet/Kraze) or are you branching out to some newer people?

My album has production from Danny Weed, Mega (Eski Beat, Most Wanted), Points amongst others and some other producers you may not of heard before.

Will the next CD differ much from your previous work like the stuff on Left 2 Rot or Terror Scare?

Definitely, Left2Rot was about grime and O.T as a crew. My album is more about me.

You’ve spoken before about leaving the scene and returning for essentially ‘one last chance’, if the reception to this CD is positive, what’s the next step for you?

I will always be involved in music, weather its behind the scenes or not but who knows what will happen! If my album gets a good reception I will move on to bigger and better things.

‘A Dog Is For Life Not Just For Christmas’; the title suggests something deep, do you think the new CD will help listeners to get to know you a bit more? Is that something you actually want to occur?

Due to a unforeseen situation I was unable to release A Dog Is Not Just For Christmas when I wanted to so I’m releasing a free download from outakers.com and my album will be out in 2010, but yea, both projects represent a chance to get to know a bit more about me.

You’ve been doing music for the best part of 10 years now, where we’ve seen different music like Garage and Drum N Bass come and go, have you been tempted to do stuff other than Grime yourself?

If you’ve been a supporter of my music you will know I always like to try different styles of music, I’m always testing myself and trying to get the best result.

As mentioned, you’re known to go quite deep on a tune, do you limit yourself as to how far you actually go when telling listeners about your life?

I never limit myself. I’ve seen a lot in my life so I’ve got a lot to get off my chest.

You’ve made tunes that will go down as classics when Grime eventually reaches it’s limit, such as Burning and Where’s All The Beer, but what has been your favourite tune to make?

The main songs that will always stick with me as being the best is S.T.D, Hello and Nightshift because of the recognition I got for them. To this day people say they want it or they still listen to it.

And come to think of it, what have you enjoyed the most about the new CD? Is there anything, maybe feature-wise that people will be surprised with?

I’ve enjoyed every minute of doing this CD. I’ve done a lot of CD’s but this is my first solo release so it’s special to me.

Lord Of The Mics is slowly approaching, if you could clash any MC of your choice who would it be and why?

I would clash anyone. Bring it on!

Will we be able to hear you all over the radio in the run up to the CD’s arrival? O.T have dominated Rinse FM over the years…

Rinse has been a big part of my career. I literally lived there, but yeah, you’ll hear me on the radio very soon.

It’s fair to say that over the years listeners have had different reactions to your music, what makes the fans enjoy your music do you think? To counter that, why do you think fans sometimes react negatively?

I enjoy it because they know most of the time I don’t give a shit about what I‘m writing and maybe that’s why sometimes people give me bad feedback, there’s no limits with me, I tend to go over the top but that’s me..

Peace O.T 4 life
